Considering a career in accounting? You have several
choices you can look at before making a decision as to which way you
might decide to tread. There are several fields you can consider with
auditing probably being the most prestigious of all. Even though you
could look at bookkeeping, accounts receivable, and payable and several
other area you could try. However auditing is probably the most visible.

you choose the auditing field, you can do a lot to help big companies

become a government auditior for the IRS, or other government areas. If
you become a government auditor you have got to learn to shed the
hatred and resentment that comes with especially the IRS area of

The increase in auditing jobs will grow a huge amount
in coming years. So it might a better field to be involved with. If
your taste excludes the Government and IRS auditing positions. Still
most all Companies must have certified Audits on a regular basis. The
larger companies must have a full time in house auditors. So as you can
see the field is not shy on needed personnel.
Most Auditors are
advanced as well as full fledge accountants. This is they way you would
move up your companies ladder by doing a superb job in the field you

that all taxes due are paid and to leave no loopholes open that should
not be.
As many businesses at times file tax returns with a lot
more expenses than a company of that nature should have. Then its time
for the auditor to determine, if these expenses are correct and proper.
If these expenses and receipts do not meet the tax code criteria, the
companies can face harsh penalties and fines. Thus the reason that most
government auditors are disliked to the point of being hated and are
given very bad reputations. It cannot be avoided. You have no choice
but to do your job properly.
You will discover that being a
government auditor is probably one of the top career positions you can
hold. When you are in this position it is your responsibility to
ascertain that people file tax returns properly and responsibly in
order to avoid cheating the tax man.
An auditor must be able to
decipher the different technologies being used by different companies
these days. No more sitting all day crunching numbers by hand, you must
be trained on all the latest machines and technology being used by the

the $35000 range, as you gain more experience you can move up a good

as much as $80 thousand per year. So as you can see being an Auditor is
not a lowly paid career. Some earn big money. Do not worry about the
starting salaries, it is the ending ones that really count.

the fact that most of the government auditors have poor reputations, if
you believe it is something you are cut for. If you love crunching the
numbers. You know you will have a good job and career. Why would you
really care what others think and say as long as you do the best job
you can possibly do. Do your job properly and you will be rewarded
properly this is the main reason for choosing an accountancy career to
begin with.
