You’ve probably seen pictures of Buddhist monks sitting on the floor while meditating. But for some people that simply isn’t feasible. For a variety of reasons, many people choose to meditate in a chair instead of seated on the ground. However, an ordinary chair just won’t do. A meditation chair is just the thing for you.

A meditation chair offers a much more comfortable way to practice the art of meditation. What it does is help make you more comfortable by molding to your body. When you’re not distracted by your aching back or cramped legs, your meditation experience will be much more productive.

Meditation chairs adapt readily to your body shape, and they’re also comfortably cushioned. The secret behind the comfort they provide is buckwheat hull. This material is well recognized for its long lasting characteristics. It’s an all natural, hypoallergenic product. Buckwheat hulls provide a firm seat surface for the buttocks. As well, they keep their shape within the chair.

Meditation chairs are ergonomically designed to tilt forward somewhat, which keeps you from slumping. As well, they support your spine so you won’t experience back pain. And if you feel the need to change your position, you can just cross your ankles or pull up your feet. These features all help to promote the flow of energy through your body.

There are numerous styles of meditation chairs. Look for one that best suits your height, weight and body shape. Depending on the style, prices for meditation chairs are anywhere from $30 to $350.

One of the real advantages of meditation chairs is their light weight, portability and range of sizes. When you’re finished meditating, just slide them away into a closet. There are also portable meditation chairs, inflatable cushions and folding benches, so that you can meditate anywhere you go.

A more permanent option is a cane chair. It’s stylish enough to fit your decor. You can sit in it just like a regular chair if you wish. If you prefer, however, there is ample room for you to assume the lotus position.

The design of most meditation chairs helps you remain comfortable and at ease during meditation. Getting a meditation chair is a good idea if you’re determined to improve your health and fight stress. Whether you’re starting to learn some meditation techniques or have been doing it for years, a meditation chair will let you practice the art in comfort.

In every religion meditation has been practiced since ancient times in one form or another. The main purpose of meditation is to enable individuals to achieve higher states of consciousness. Regular meditation leads to inner peace which a person finds within him or herself after the emotional blocks inhibiting that inner peace are removed by meditation.

Scientifically speaking meditation changes your brainwave patterns which then benefits you at a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level. For example if we are always preoccupied with making plans, and never able to rest or recharge, meditation can literally supply us with the rest and recharge we need which normally evades us even during sleep do to an active sub conscious. Meditation is enhanced by listening to brainwave entrainment meditation music.

Binaural beats and isochronic tones are known as methods of brainwave entrainment. Meditation music embedded with binaural beats or isochronic tones uses sound frequencies which has the power to change a person’s brainwave level. In simple terms if one is listening to isochronic tones at 9hz but your mind is racing at a higher level of 18hz then the isochronic tones will slowly lower your brainwave level from 18hz to 9hz. This is exactly what meditation accomplishes, but the process is quickened by listening to meditation music.

Binaural beats or isochronic tones in and of themselves are not musical sounding. They are just plain tones or frequencies. For this reason those who specialize in brainwave entrainment meditation music often embed the isochronic tones or binaural beats with soothing nature sounds, new age music, or pleasant ambient sounds. Brainwave entrainment by means of binaural beats or isochronic tones embedded with nature sounds etc. is in itself a method of meditation which rejuvenates us on all levels, physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.

It doesn’t take much to receive the benefits of listening to meditation music. Simply plug in your headphones (which helps drown out external noises), forget about everything that bothers you, and just let the soothing sound of meditation music take you away. Apart from being refreshing meditation music gives you the same benefits as are experienced from meditation. Meditation music enhances meditation and/or helps trigger in you a meditation state of mind which is actually your normal state of mind, but has been forgotten or suffocated from a life too focused and preoccupied with outward things. There needs to be balance and meditation music helps provide that balance.

Listening to meditation takes one to a much higher level where the pressures of life don’t matter any more. Anyone can experience this inner peace no matter how old they are. Meditation music embedded with binaural beats or isochronic tones can even enhance your intelligence, remove all kinds of negative thoughts and stress, and increase your chances for enlightenment here and now. This is all made possible by listening to meditation music.
