<p>There are many challenges in keeping acai berries. Amazonian acai berries are healthy but they are very perishable which is why most people do not get to eat fresh acai berries, only getting to eat processed or preserved ones in the form of frozen pulp. Once an acai berry is picked off of an acai palm tree, it will not last long in the open air. If refrigerated, it can last up to 24 hours, at which time it&#8217;s many nutrients begin to die off quickly.</p>
<p>Since acai berries do not last long at all, it is hard to transport them anywhere far. That means, something needs to be done to the acai berries before they can be transported to be sold elsewhere other than near the rain forest regions in Brazil or wherever else the acai palm trees grow.</p>
<p>There are many challenges that manufacturers face when trying to preserve and process acai berries. The cost can be high and any slight drop in quality control could mean the whole batch of acai berries will be worthless. Once acai berries are picked by the locals, they are quickly transported to be processed to avoid any risks of microbial contamination.</p>
<p>Not only do manufacturers need to consider how to preserve acai berries so that they will not become rotten during shipment, they also need to think of ways that will preserve the nutrients in the berries as much as possible. Many of the processes done to the berries destroy the nutrients in them. If this is allowed to happen, then there is no good reason for anyone to reach out to buy any acai berry products and pay a lot of money for them. All to often this is the case.</p>
<p>One of the most obvious ways to preserve acai berries is to freeze them. When people cannot get fresh fruits, they try to get frozen fruits as their second choice. But, there are problems when freezing the acai berries and transporting them. First of all, the manufacturer has to make sure that the temperature remains constant throughout the journey or the acai berries will arrive spoiled and worthless.</p>
<p>Some companies do not want to mess with fresh acai berries or even frozen ones and they opt to compact the acai berries into capsules, tablets, pills and powder. There are many forms of the acai berry that will last long but they usually do not contain as much nutrients as fresh or frozen acai berries. Some of them are not even good for you anymore.</p>
<p>Then there is the famous freeze drying process for acai berries which is done in a vacuum. Some companies and researchers claim that the freeze drying process is the best way to preserve the nutrients in the acai berry. In a vacuum, the enzymes that cause the acai berry to deteriorate fast are much less active.</p>
<p>The moral of this story is that while acai berries have lots of nutrients in them, the acai berry products that you find may not contain many nutrients at all. You have to pay attention to how the acai berry is processed in order to find out if a product is really good for you. If the product is not nutritious, then there is obviously no point paying a premium price for it.</p>

Some are high caffeine drinks, others are enhanced fruit juices, and others contain additional nutrients to improve health.</p>
<p>Most people take some kind of drink during the day and frequently at night also, to give them a boost in energy. The traditional coffee and tea has been drunk for a lot of years for this reason. Energy drinks came onto the market over the recent 20 years, and a lot of of these are essentially soft drinks with Guarana or Caffeine added to them. Youths and teenagers tend to prefer high energy drinks more than coffee and tea, although people of all different ages are now drinking energy drinks also.</p>
<p>Caffeine has the benefit of stimulating the central nervous system, and increasing metabolism. Guarana has the active constituent Guaranine, which is almost identical to caffeine. Nutritionists believe that the Guarana seed may be good for athletic performance, fatigue and weight control.</p>

<p>Consuming a healthy energy drink gives more energy that lasts much longer, because the extra nutrients support the body&#8217;s cardiovascular and immune system, which assists in preventing prevent illness and disease. The nutrients also play an important role in carbohydrate and protein absorption and metabolism, along with supporting the digestive system. In addition, healthy drinks usually contain antioxidants, which help prevent damage to our bodies from over-exercise, stress, and being exposed to environmental pollutants and dirty air.</p>

<p>Why would people opt for the more common energy drink, instead of a healthy energy drink? In the quest for increased energy levels, many people have opted for the fast solution that may have minimal benefits but long-term side effects &#8211; energy drinks. Energy drinks which are often loaded up with caffeine and sugar among many other ingredients and energy boosting compounds are used to increase the energy levels of individuals who train in the gym or even the ordinary man who just has needs of increasing his stamina and endurance on the job.</p>
<p>For some  folks , they  need  energy  drinks because of the ability to help them  enhance  their concentration and alertness on the job. Whatever the  wants  are,  power drinks are  good  when taken in moderate quantities. But when it becomes the &#8220;solution&#8221; to tiredness and bodily weaknesses, which are a  consequence  of hard work, then there is a dilemma.</p>
<p>Energy drinks are not meant  to keep you awake or to help you keep pushing to the limit. They are  intended  to  offer you the  increased   power levels that you need so that you can stay a little longer at your task and finish it up. When taken in moderate  quantities, there isn&#8217;t any likely chance of it becoming dangerous .</p>
<p>But when taken in excess quantities, it can cause side effects like irritability, insomnia and tachycardia &#8211; increased pulse rate- that are common with excessive coffee intake. Energy drinks are not meant to provide the one stop solution to frequent tiredness and bodily weakness. Drinking a healthy energy drink, getting enough rest and eating well can easily solve these problems.</p>
<p>Should You Drink A Healthy Energy Drink All The Time?</p>
<p>Many times fitness buffs will take energy drinks just to keep them going when training or just to give them the perk they need when they do not feel like training. Energy drinks which are very common and popular these days as a result of the media exposure they have had and the supposed &#8220;miracle&#8221; solutions with promises of instant energy and strength, has become the favorite drink of many. Whether it is just for the taste or an instant energy boost, energy drinks are commonly found everywhere. Examples of the popular energy drinks are Monster, RedBull, Rockstar, Power horse, Power Fist, XS, and Go Fast.</p>
<p>While energy drinks are very good for the short-term effects they do provide, it is not good to take them long-term mostly because of their components. One of the very common ingredients found in all energy drinks is caffeine. While some argue that the sugar based energy drinks give a lot more boost, it has been proven that caffeine is the major component responsible for the concentration improvement and hyperactivity.</p>
<p>Like taking caffeine, an increased usage of these energy drinks will give  you diminishing returns and increased dependence on the  power drink. This will cause the  accurate opposite of the results you are looking for. Most frequent users of  powerdrinks become addicted to it as a result of the caffeine content available  in the drink. </p>
<p>So, whatever the reason for taking energy drinks, let them be used as a supplement or support of a healthy lifestyle for balanced results. There is always the option of taking a healthy energy drink too, especially if it is really a nutritional supplement with an energy blend.</p>

<p>Recent studies from a major university in Boston named Tufts says that fruits are high in antioxidants. They rank the antioxidant value of fruits that are commonly eaten. This measurement is called Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity or for short (ORAC). This test measures the total amount of antioxidants in each fruit or vegetable.</p>
<p>What are antioxidants? They protect agains cellular damage, and oxidation caused by free radicals that are around us every day. They are effective to prevent retinal diseases like macular degen. Some antioxidants that we know of are Vitamin C, E, and beta carotene to name a few. Some people forget that some vitamin antioxidant supplements are very popular but the most important part of the nutrients is in the foods we eat.</p>

<p>There are more than 1500 recognised antioxidants and related phyto-chemicals in everyday common foods that do an uncommonly good job of combating free radicals in the body &#8211; those substances released internally during the process of oxidation and formed externally by environmental forces such as radiation, X-rays, drugs, pesticides, air and water pollutants, hydrocarbons, food additives, alcohol, smoking &#8211; you name it. Free radicals damage living cells and contribute to a continuing roll call of complaints, including interference with DNA programming, premature aging, heart disease, AIDS, arthritis, cancer, cataracts, allergies and diabetes. </p>
<p>Here&#8217;s how the antioxidant force can be with you when you eat. Perhaps the most celebrated of the free radical foes are the carotenoids (named for the carrots in which they were first isolated), of which there are approximately 40, including alpha and beta-carotene (found in carrots, apricots and sweet potatoes) and lutein (found in spinach, celery and kale). The carotenoids are especially potent in blocking cancer, fighting allergies and slowing the aging process. The most powerful members of the antioxidant family are probably the pycnogenols (also known as flavonoids) which are 20 times more potent than Vitamin C and 50 times more active than Vitamin E. Pycnogenols protect against capillary damage, bruising and improve your overall immunity to heart disease and cancer. </p>

<p>Vitamin E (tocopherol) is a fat-soluble vitamin-antioxidant and important immune system stimulant that helps alleviate fatigue and provides tissue oxygen to accelerate the healing of wounds, burns and skin disorders such as acne and eczema. In partnership with the mineral selenium, it neutralizes free radicals that accelerate cellular and cerebral aging and raise the risk of cancer. </p>
