<p>When we have eaten that whole bag of chocolate covered Oreos, and watched the latest episode of those glamorous skinny dancers on Dancing With the Stars, don&#8217;t we all want to get our hands on those celebrity weight loss plans? I mean really, do they even eat real food? I have never seen an actual celebrity shopping at my local grocery store. I haven&#8217;t even seen one at Whole Foods. Maybe they all hang out at Trader Joes.</p>
<p>Regardless, losing weight can be an uphill battle for many of us. I think that the main reason there are so many overweight and obese people in the US alone is because everything is so fast. Fast food on every corner beckoning us to help ourselves to a lifetime of heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and depression. Our lives are too fast paced too. If you notice, our breaks are getting shorter, and whatever happened to more than one vacation every year at work.</p>

<p>We think we are relaxing when we stretch out in front of the television, but again, we are being bombarded with subliminal messages about what to buy, and what to eat.</p>
<p>Celebrities don&#8217;t have to worry about their weight because they hire people to worry for them. They have professional trainers, nutritionists, and a host of people helping them to lose weight. They never have to go to the grocery store. Assistants do that too. If you watch MTV&#8217;s cribs, their mansions all have workout rooms with professional equipment, and their houses are usually so big that it&#8217;s exercise just to get from room to room. As everyday people, we don&#8217;t have that luxury. Our homes are smaller, and sidewalks are becoming a thing of the past.</p>
<p>For us the answer to weight loss is to shut off the television. Cut off the cable and save $150 a month (at least!). Use the $150 to get yourself a gym membership, and your own personal trainer. Toss the oreos, and make salads. And not just iceberg lettuce and tomatoes with blue cheese either. Get yourself a good pair of sneakers and get outside for some fresh air everyday.</p>
<p>Get a large bowl. Buy one bag of fresh spinach, and one bag of the salad with all of the veggies and dark greens. Get a can of almonds, and a bag of edamame (soy beans). Buy some fresh apples and dried cranberries, and one of those roasted chickens in the deli section. One more thing, get a light vinaigrette dressing. My personal favorites are the raspberry vinaigrette, or the Asian ginger dressing. Mix everything together, and get yourself a large, huge glass of ice water. This can be lunch or dinner daily.</p>
<p>For breakfast, try a healthy cereal with low fat milk, or a green smoothie. Dinner can be a Lean Cuisine meal, or something sensible. The key is to make it for yourself. Lean protein, lots of veggies, fruit, brown rice, and more water. Fiber is filling, and you will not get cravings if you eat several balanced meals every day.</p>
<p>So flip the script, and change the way you live. Your attitude will shift, and you will gain more energy. Don&#8217;t let others dictate to you how you should live your life. Set goals, lose weight, and keep progressing. Create your own celebrity weight loss plan for you!</p>

<p>The Zone Diet was invented by Dr. Barry Sears. He created the diet to help people lose weight and avoid disease. The diet follows a specific plan: the 40/30/30 strategy. This means that adherents of the diet are required to consume 40% carbs, 30% fats, and 30% protein.</p>
<p>The Zone Diet focuses on insulin production as the major facet of weight loss. Consuming foods that raise blood sugar and stimulate insulin production are bad for you. Excess insulin is stored as fat. When you eat foods that rapidly produce insulin your body is encourage to store fat rather than burn it for energy. Spikes in insulin are believed to cause heart disease and diabetes.</p>
<p>As we discussed some foods cause a spike in insulin. Which foods you ask? Well white flour and processed foods contain empty calories (simple carbohydrates) that cause insulin to flood the blood streams. Avoid these foods and white flour like the plague. Instead eat fruits and vegetables because the sugars (carbohydrates) in these foods are generally more complex and don&#8217;t cause the unhealthy insulin spike!</p>
<p>The Zone Diet recommends eating 3 daily meals and two snacks. Snacks prevent hunger and overeating. However, your snack must contain good carbohydrates in order to avoid the dreaded insulin spike. Meals, of course, must follow the 40/30/30 rule. The largest portion coming from carbs like green vegies, corn, cauliflower, squash, peppers, zucchini, and other similar vegies. As for protein, a good measure is to choose a portion about the size of your hand. And fat should probably be cut off of your meat prior to eating.</p>
<p>Consumption of the proper amount of fat is essential because doing so slows digestion and provides a continuous source of steady energy. Slowing your digestion is good because you won&#8217;t feel hungry immediately after eating because your body will be busy digesting. The Zone Diet recommends eating good fats contained in nuts and canola and olive oil.</p>
<p>Foods that cause spikes in the blood sugar are avoided as much as possible. We know that candy, cakes, and other sweet treats can do this, but also more common foods. Breads, pasta noodles, and heavy starches will do the same thing. These foods are addictive and we often eat more than a serving size of them at any one time, without realizing it.</p>
<p>The Zone diet plan offers no special pre-packaged foods to buy so the plan is cost effective. The weekly grocery list is fine with a few simple changes to reflect healthier choices. The foods are ones that children are used to eating so there is no problem fixing Zone approved meals for everyone in the house. They may not even notice the changes in many cases.</p>

<p>Calories are very significant to any weight loss program. Not many people realize that their weight problem is likely due to a massive consumption of calories on a daily basis. How can we begin to be successful at any weight loss program when we are not willing to give up those foods that cause us to gain weight.</p>
<p>In order to lose weight you will have to become more aware of what you are eating daily and try to eat smaller portions than normal. Counting calories and weighing your food on food scales can be frustrating, but unless you are going to make the effort to reduce your portions, this is what you will have to do in order to lose weight.</p>
<p>However the difference between having to count calories and just being aware of your calorie counts, is doable and can easily be accomplished. </p>
<p>A lot of people have absolutely no idea what type of foods they should be eating to lose weight and how many calories they should have each day to be able to lose weight. Different food groups have different calories, with fruits and vegetables being in the lower calorie food group.</p>
<p>Losing weight is all about calories&#8230;even fruits and vegetables in the lower calorie food group have different calorie values. Did you know that a medium banana is approximately 105 calories, a medium apple is approximately 71 calories and a medium orange is approximately 61 calories? I know your thinking, big deal.</p>
<p>Now with minimal effort I eat balanced nutritious meals and reward myself with pizza and treats once a week. Pounds just seem to melt off me now and that&#8217;s making me very happy.</p>
<p>Eating sensibly doesn&#8217;t have to be that hard, it just has to be a well thought out balanced nutritious meal. I enjoy lots of fruits and vegetables, which amazingly become delicious after eating them for awhile. I can say this because I used to hate eating fruits and vegetables. Now I love them.</p>
<p>I have never had to deprive myself of eating anything during my weight loss program Eating sensibly has worked wonders for me.</p>

<p>This is the first in a series of articles that examines, scrutinizes, and exposes so-called idiot proof weight loss programs.</p>
<p>The first diet plan that we will scrutinize is called Fat Loss 4 Idiots. This diet has 7 basic steps (1) eating 4 meals a day; (2) eliminating sweets; (3) alternating between carbs and protein intake; (4) exercise in the form of walking; (5) drinking plenty of water; (6) cooking your own meals in your home; (7) eating only until you are satisfied not full.</p>
<p>The fat loss 4 idiots diet plan is very easy to follow because you are given a diet generator that makes daily meal plans for you. This diet&#8217;s claim to fame is that by following the diet you will lose 9 pounds every 11 days.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s cover the bad news first, the forbidden foods. The Fat Loss 4 Idiots Diet excludes starchy carbs like pasta, potatoes, and bread. Not all carbs are forbidden, however, this isn&#8217;t the Atkins diet. More bad news, alcohol is by and large exclude. With one exception, you&#8217;re allowed one glass of wine daily. Lastly, there are no calorie restrictions or portion limits, but you are encouraged to eat only until satisfied not until you are full.</p>
<p>Do people actually lose weight using Fat Loss 4 Idiots, does this thing work? My research shows that a majority of people who follow the diet do lose weight. I&#8217;ve examined, scoured, and scrutinized forums, chat rooms, Yahoo, MSN, Google, and other search engines. The overall response from people who follow the diet is positive, they lose weight.</p>
<p>The Fat Loss 4 Idiots Diet, however, has its detractors. Some people complain that the diet becomes repetitive and bland after a while. You know what they say, you can&#8217;t please all the people all the time. This is a diet people. If it was completely pain-free and fun and easy to be called a vacation. And remember you work out and diet in order to go on vacation.</p>
<p>The Conclusion: The bottom line, this one is a winner. People who follow it, lose weight. On average a majority of people who followed the diet lost between 3-6 pounds per week. In other words, they are temporary. That is not to say they are useless just that they will never give you continued success unless you change some things permanently.</p>
<p>What is a Diet Good for?</p>
<p>Diets have their place in your weight loss goals. First of all, they can be beneficial to jump starting your metabolism. Kind of a fire starter if you will. A jump-start will give you more energy and the initial weight loss can boost your self-confidence.</p>
<p>However, you will need to be ready to make some whole life changes if you want the results to be permanent. What are some changes you will need to make? Well a lot of that depends on you.</p>
<p>Lifestyle Changes- Fast Food</p>
<p>Are you a fast food junkie who eats out at least a couple of times per week? If so, you will find that you have plenty of company. Many people are so busy that the drive through is a perfect solution for dinner, lunch and even breakfast. The problem is many have no idea that one meal from a fast food restaurant can contain nearly a whole day&#8217;s caloric intake.</p>
<p>One popular fast food joint has a burger that is 750 calories! The burger alone is a third of your recommended daily allowance; add the fries and a drink and you are done for the day.</p>
<p>Does this mean you can never have fast food again? Not necessarily, but it will mean that you have to be aware of what you are eating. Most fast food places have a website that contains all the nutritional information for the foods they serve. Check them out then make you a list of &#8220;safe&#8221; fast foods.</p>
<p>Exercise Changes</p>
<p>If you never move your body more than from the house to the car to work and back you will have a hard time losing weight and keeping it off. The human body functions best when there are periods of exercise. It increases mood stabilizers in the blood stream and best of all burns calories.</p>
<p>While you are on your diet, take the time to incorporate exercise into your life. You will feel better and increase your weight loss rates exponentially. Start with a walk, park further away from the store or your office. Then as you progress, find time to walk more or jog. Whatever you can comfortably fit in your schedule will be a great place to start.</p>
<p>Healthy Eating</p>
<p>This is absolutely the most important part of all. While you are on your chosen diet, you will want to become familiar with healthier food choices. Find ways to make your favorite foods better for you. Can you substitute ground turkey for ground beef in some recipes? Learn new recipes that include fresh fruits and vegetables.</p>
<p>You see your body needs several things to function at a healthy level. Proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals just to name a few. You also need certain fats to cushion joints and protect your vital organs. Create a lifestyle eating plan that brings all of these elements into play and you will feel amazing and best of all you will be able to lose weight and keep it off.</p>

For example, if you weigh 120 lbs, then you will need to drink 60 oz of water daily. You can also add a small amount of prunes, raisins, grapes, dates and figs but don&#8217;t over do. Three prunes daily is about the limit. Fresh fruit daily is a requirement, preferably citrus. Everyone also needs one or two tablespoons of unsaturated oil each day in their diet.</p>
<p>Occasionally it is good to eat steamed beets (not canned) as a late evening snack. Cook the unpeeled beets in a steamer or with very little water. You will probably be pleasantly surprised with the results! Most detox diets mainly consist of uncooked vegetables, fruits, water and some types of juices. Three weeks is the maximum recommended duration of such a diet.</p>
<p>Always consult your doctor before attempting a colon cleansing routine. As always, it&#8217;s prudent to consult your doctor before going on any type of colon cleansing program. Colon cleansing would not be recommended if you have any type of medical condition such as pregnancy or breast feeding or if you have intestinal blockage. The best thing to do to be on the safe side is to talk to your doctor and make sure you can take on a program like this.</p>

<p>Generally the hardest part in any diet is losing those first ten pounds. Getting started can feel like starvation to your body and falling for comfort foods in those first few days and weeks is so easy. So here are some tips to get started on those first ten pounds.</p>
<p>It is best to find someone who can be your supporter. Perhaps a friend can join you in your diet program. You should also be able to find a weight loss support group. Many support groups are free to join or just have a minimal fee.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t be afraid to reach out for support. The more you have the better and it will help you get those 10 pounds off.</p>
<p>Having a 2-3 day cleansing period to jump-start your diet is a great way to start. If we give ourselves plenty of food, our body tends to store it as fat to get ready for the lean times. </p>
<p>Therefore tell your body that there is no more storing fat and that the body needs to release that fat now. Just reducing your calories alone will take much longer than you might have anticipated. </p>
<p>So for the first three days, eat a diet that is low in calories and in fat, consuming foods such as salad and healthy soup. Also cut down on your meat intake. Cutting food down to a minimum in these three days will give you the cleansing kick start that you need.</p>
<p>I know it sounds tough, and it is but once you are through the three days, your body will start to release fat if you stick to the level recommended by your height. You will also find it easier to stick to your diet. The cleansing period will also help curb your hunger.</p>
<p>To lose ten pounds, you need to be serious about your diet and stick to it. Exercising should be added to your routine and yo should start to see your weight go down. Those ten pounds will take 1-2.5 months to lose.</p>
<p>The excess weight you have did not appear overnight and so expect it to take some time to get rid.</p>
<p>You will probably want to give up before you have lost the 10 pounds but stick at it. Treat yourself. Not with high calorie foods but why not have a spa treatment or have your hair done to celebrate what weight you have managed to lose. It will increase your motivation to keep going.</p>

<p>How to lose weight fast and free? If you pay attention to what you eat and be sure to have good tasting, fresh and healthy food including snacks, fill up on vegetables and keep your taste buds happy with fruit. You will say goodbye to 10 pounds of unwanted fat in no time.  </p>
<p>The 7 tips list below is a balanced and flexible plan that you can use for as long as you want. And it will help you to lose your first 10 pounds, last 10 pounds or give your weight loss program a boost when it seems to have stuttered to a halt if you follow this guidelines.</p>
<p>1. The very first thing to secure your weight loss success is to make a weight loss food diary. Keep a note of everything that you eat and drink. </p>
<p>If you want you can write down every details of what have had the day and may be portion size as well. But you do not need to estimate calories. This is a great way in which to help yourself identify the patterns of unhealthy eating that you never noticed before.</p>
<p>2. To lose weight fast and naturally, lowing your fat intake is very important. Consume eggs, nuts and red meat occasionally but not every day. And try to eat the lower fat source of protein at most meals: chicken, fish, beans, cottage cheese, or low fat yogurt.</p>
<p>3. Plan your meals and snacks ahead of time. Make a shopping list of what you need and stick to it. If you just grab something when you are feeling hungry, you will probably choose high calorie food. Plan at least one lunch and dinner every week without meat or cheese. Build those meals around whole grains, vegetables and beans to increase fiber and reduce fat.</p>
<p>4. If you want fill up with some snacks during the day, grated carrot is a very great one. You will find that a grated carrot is much more filling than a whole carrot. Strange but true. Trying to limit treats containing sugar such as chocolate, ice cream, desserts, cake, pastries, cookies, etc. to three times per week. </p>
<p>5. Include at least two servings of vegetables at lunch and dinner. If you are getting hungry, have more. Have at least two servings of fruit every day. This can be for dessert or snacks. Choose fruit that is in season. </p>
<p>6. Drink water instead of sodas, juices, milky drinks or alcohol. Avoid diet soda &#8211; the sweet taste only encourages you to crave sugar. Hot water with a slice of lemon can be very refreshing in the morning.</p>
<p>7. You will feel actually happier eating stuff that require chewing as opposed to &#8220;white&#8221; stuff! You should try to incorporate as many textures into my meals as possible. Again this will increase your fiber intake, and the act of chewing will make you feel more satisfied too.</p>
<p>Be slow and concentrated while eating, because your is slow to register when you are full and it is easy to eat too much if you are racing through your meals. Studies have proved that we eat larger portions in front of the TV, probably because we are much less aware of what we are eating. Remember to switch off the TV when you eat.</p>
