Don’t Let The Red Ring Of Death Happen To Your Xbox 360 – 4 Tips
The Xbox 360 is no different from most other complex machines. Proper usage and a little maintenance can help prevent breakdowns and problems later on. With the 360, the problems we’re talking about are the red ring of death and other heat related issues.
If you have a new machine and it functions just fine, it is advisable that you practice the following four tips to keep yours working trouble free.
1.) Dust free environment.
Take care that your console is kept clean. It shouldn’t be used or stored in dirty or dusty places. Dust nearby can contaminate your console if it gets into the cooling vents.
This dust traps in heat and prevents the circuitry from cooling. In addition, dust and dirt will also clog the vents, which further impedes cooling.
2.) Closed in or stuffy environments.
Your console has to have a good deal of air to avoid getting too hot. It contains fans that provide a continuous flow of cooling air. If you keep your machine in an enclosure or in a crowded little corner, there won’t be enough air available for effective cooling.
3.) Temperature of operating environment.
The console puts out heat in abundance. A little common sense says to use it in a cool environment. When you’re out exercising, are you more likely to over heat in an area that’s hot or cool?
This type of common sense also applies to your usage of your console. Don’t use it in rooms that are too warm, or in direct sunlight or next to a heater or furnace. Basically, stay away from any source of heat.
4.) Your Xbox needs a break once in a while!
Which physical activity will cause you to get overheated? Doing a 10 mile run or walking to the mailbox? Common sense like this also applies to the overheating issues of your console.
Playing 3D high definition games generate a lot more heat than live arcade games. When playing demanding games, take occasional breaks from your gaming. Your console needs the time to cool off.
Remember, your Xbox 360 is a frail machine especially when it comes to overheating. With proper care and maintenance it will give you many hours of gaming enjoyment.
